On purpose. Without the freeze, the orb would snap back to centre whenever tracking briefly dropped. It holds the last pose and picks up smoothly when your hand returns.

What gestures do what?

Pinch scales. Move steers. Wrist rotation rotates. Open / close the palm to bloom / retract the feathers. Fast movement creates a wind gust that bends the tips.

Tips

Keep your hand 30–60 cm from the camera. Too close and tracking jitters; too far and the pinch range collapses.
Good lighting on the hand is the biggest quality lever. Front light beats backlight.
Press 1, 2, 3 to cycle modes during a set. Press F for fullscreen.
Fullscreen on a second monitor is the VJ setup: controls on the primary, orb on the projector.
