How to Make 3D Images from a Single Photo

A short animation that flips between two slightly offset views. Your brain reads the motion as depth, so a flat photo lands three-dimensional without glasses.

The Stereoscopic 3D tool handles the hard parts. You upload, tune a couple of sliders, export.

Single Image Mode

1. Open Stereoscopic 3D and drop in any photo (JPG, PNG, WebP).
2. The tool runs depth on the image. A progress bar tracks it.
3. Once depth lands, the preview starts the 3D motion. Foreground and background should pull apart.
4. Parallax Amplitude controls how much the image shifts. Start moderate; push for drama, but too much warps the edges.
5. Invert Depth if the foreground and background read reversed.
6. Wiggle Speed to taste. Faster reads snappy, slower reads hypnotic.
7. Bump Frames up for a softer motion between left and right.
8. Pick an Easing curve. Ease-in-out gives a small pause at each extreme. Linear feels mechanical. Sine sits between.
9. Set Duration for how long the MP4 plays. It loops the cycle.
10. Hit Export MP4. The file downloads when it finishes.

Stereo Pair Mode

If you already have two photos shot from slightly different positions, switch to Stereo Pair.

• Upload left and right separately.
• Or upload a single side-by-side stereo card (the old Victorian format). The tool detects the format and splits it.

Stereo Pair skips depth entirely and just wobbles between your two images.

What Makes a Good 3D Image

• Photos with a clear subject in front of a background work best. Portraits, street scenes, objects on a table.
• Scenes with depth layers (foreground, midground, background) give the most convincing 3D.
• Flat textures and overhead shots have less for the depth pass to read.
• Reflections and glass can confuse the depth in those spots. The effect still runs.

Pair With Other Tools
