Animate Any Effect Parameter with Keyframes

Every effect on Mondniles supports keyframe animation. Set any parameter to change over time and export a clip where the effect evolves frame by frame.

What Are Keyframes?

A keyframe locks a snapshot of your effect settings at a specific frame. Between two keyframes, every parameter interpolates smoothly. Intensity, colour, glow, threshold. The effect breathes alongside your footage instead of sitting static.

How to Use Keyframes

1. Load a video on any effect tool: Datamosh, LED Scan, Opium, Neon Edge, Point Cloud, and 15 more.
2. Dial in your starting settings, scrub to frame 0, click Set KF.
3. Move to a later frame, change settings, click Set KF again.
4. Press Play. The preview animates live between your keyframes.
5. Export. The rendered MP4 matches the preview.

Easing Curves

Click a keyframe marker to choose its outgoing easing:

• Linear, constant rate of change
• Ease In, slow start, fast finish
• Ease Out, fast start, smooth stop
• Log, snappy start that settles gently

What Animates

All numeric sliders and hex colour pickers interpolate between keyframes. Discrete values like dropdowns and toggles hold the earlier keyframe's value until the next keyframe.

Good Starting Points

• Opium, ramp ghost trails from nothing to heavy for a slow-build atmosphere
• Neon Edge, push glow from subtle to blinding across a few seconds
• Cinematic Zoom, keyframe zoom speed for a dolly-into-vertigo transition
• Point Cloud, animate rotation and depth for a 3D flythrough
• Datamosh, ramp intensity from clean to full melt
• Slit Scan, sweep scan direction for moving temporal displacement
• Motion Trails, push trail length up for a ghost-trail reveal

Tips

• Three keyframes or more lets you build a full arc: ramp up, hold, release.
• Scrub without keyframes to audition settings frame-by-frame before committing.
• The Clear button removes all keyframes at once.
