Pixel sorting reorders the pixels in each row or column by brightness, and the result is a frame that runs into long streaks, like the image is melting under its own light. It used to live buried as one option inside Datamosh. Pixel Sort gives it its own tool with its own defaults, because it is a distinct look worth reaching for on purpose.
Streak smears the bright pixels down the frame, the signature look. Sweep pulls the colour streaks across horizontally instead. Melt runs long vertical streaks so the image flows like wet paint. Whisper touches only the highlights so the picture survives, streaks only where the light is strongest. Pick the one closest to what you want and adjust from there.
Direction chooses vertical or horizontal streaks. Threshold sets how bright a pixel has to be before it gets pulled: high keeps the effect to the highlights, low lets it take the whole frame. Streak length decides how far the pixels run. Keep the threshold high and the streaks short for a subtle, survivable look, or drop both for full melt.
